Music and Meaning

This is my 5th action project, in which we had to select two songs and describe how one song is a modern recreation of another. The songs I chose are Sorry by Beyoncé, and Revolutionary Generation by Public Enemy. I remember looking for songs to do for this action project, and those two are the ones that stuck out to me the most. When I looked at both songs' lyrics, I saw that the message, at its core, was the same in both songs. Getting to write that out on paper was something very enjoyable. One of my favorite things to do is writing and analyze media, and this was the perfect thing for me. In conclusion, I found this action project enjoyable. Honestly, making posters over and over again was getting somewhat boring, so getting to do something like this was refreshing. https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSi8IA0BDsIyQ-K3-E4ocUetfmQ_P-htpV1UtWgt40iuHfuCX237eUkePaRdWQ0P4V1Vjmf0JIEEfYc/pub

The Power of Filtration

This is my fourth action project, in which we measured the TDS of both dirty water and filtered water. At first, we were going kayaking, but it was too cold. Instead, we did this action project. Before starting the project, our hypothesis was that the TDS of the water wouldn't really change because we only used a paper towel.     Our process had 3 steps. First, we measured the TDS of the water using a TDS measurer. Second, we put a paper towel over a cup and poured the dirty water into the cup. The water would seep through the paper towel and into the cup. Finally, we measured the TDS of the water once again. When we filtered the water, it looked like the TDS of the water would've gone down, as the water got clearer.  However, after we measured  the TDS of the water, the filtered water had more TDS in the water than dirty water, meaning our hypothesis was incorrect.         After the filtration process was done, we put our results on a logarithmic scale, along with the TD

In our water class, we've been learning about water usage, conversions, ratios, and atoms. For our field experience, we went to the Chicago Riverwalk to carry water from the Riverwalk back to the school. The process of walking to the river, filling up everyone's containers, and walking back to the school took about 40 minutes in total. Everyone had to carry at least 1 gallon of water. We also watched a video of an Ethiopian girl named Aysha having to go out for 9 hours just to get water for her family.       This class made me realize just how much water I use and how I take it for granted. In class, we had to find out how much water we used on average, and I found out that I used about 120 gallons of water daily or about 452 liters. Comparing that to the average Ethiopian's usage, which is about 10 liters, it made me realize just how important water is. When I was making this poster, I wanted people to think about their own water usage, and what they could do to maybe
